2.6-uW Sub-threshold Mixed-signal ECG SoC

In this chip, we implemented a mixed-signal system-on-chip (SoC) in a 0.13um CMOS technology that acquires and processes ECG data. This chip is part of the Body Area Sensor Network(BASN) project (read more by clicking on the link!). Highlights of the chip include a sub-threshold micro-controller that adaptively controls sub-threshold based analog components and ECG data processing. The micro-controller consumes 1.51pJ per operation at minimum, while the SoC as a whole consumes only 2.6uW on average. At these power and energy numbers, the lifetime of BASN nodes are increased, while battery constraints are decreased.
